Course Materials/Handouts

Student studying at home.

Using on-line resources, I have become especially committed to producing high quality resources that I can offer students at no cost.

During the past few years, I have created many handouts, tutorials, and other course materials that I have made available to both students and colleagues.

Core Skills Writing Rubric Tutorial

The most recent on-line tutorial I have created is one that teaches students the elements of the Core Skills Writing Rubric. This tutorial, which is published as part of my teaching web site, is being used by colleges on campus as well as by my students.

Academic Integrity/Preventing Plagiarism

During the past few years, I have studied ways to promote academic integrity. Promoting Academic Integrity and Preventing Plagiarism serves as a portal to the materials I have created.

Mini Lessons

In class, I often give “mini-lectures” about various aspects of writing and research. Some of those lectures are reproduced as on-line mini-lessons.

Glossary

I have begun creating an on-line glossary of terms that reflect concepts covered in my classes and terms used on my teaching web site.

Writing Fellows Guide...

In 2006, the Schoolcraft College Foundation published The Writing Fellows Guide to the Research Paper. This book, which I wrote, serves as a paper portal to the on-line resources published by the Writing Fellows Program. This book is required/recommended in several classes offered at the college.

Writing Fellows Online

Except where otherwise noted, I wrote all of the materials that appear on the Writing Fellows On-line web site. Some of the highlights from this web site include:
