Creating a One Minute Film
You will create an original short film no longer than 60 seconds. However, if your credits cause your film to run a bit longer than 60 seconds, I will still accept it.
The purpose of the project is to give you practice, using whatever tools you have available, at making a short film.
You may use still pictures and assemble them using Microsoft Moviemaker. Or, if your skills and tools allow, you may use a digital video camera and produce a more sophisticated film. You may use a cell phone camera or web camera, or even an old-school videotape recorder.
The film needs to be approximately one minute long -- the short length will help you focus on the story you want your film to tell.
Unless it involves an original script, your film cannot be just a single shot.
Your film also needs to include opening and closing credits.
You Tube has a Making Videos section as part of their Help Center that gives suggestions for making movies.
You should post your completed film to You Tube. Once you have posted your film in You Tube, you should post the URL and your reflection paper in the "Student Film Forum" in BlackBoard.
If you do not want to open your own You Tube account, we can arrange to have me post your video for you.
Reflection Paper
You should write a 500-750 reflection on what you learned while making your film.
