Service and Professional Development

Dr. Berg conducting a seminar.
Here I am conducting a seminar as part of the Schoolcraft College's bridge program with Livonia's Franklin High School.

I take service to the college and community as well as my own professional development very seriously. As a result, I will make that material available on-line in the following areas.

Briefly Noted

I keep a log of my service and development activities; a log I call “Briefly Noted.” Some of the entries include links to reflections about those activities.

Service

According to Schoolcraft College, “Service consists of activities that further the goals and objectives and enhance the operations of the College and provide benefits to the department, college, students, and community.” A list of major service activities is available.

Development

As defined by Schoolcraft College, “Professional development consists of activities which lead to the acquisition and enhancement of skills and knowledge that benefit personal and professional competency or contribute to the growth if the discipline.” A list of major professional develop activities is available.
