Assessment
For HIST 137

In HIST 137, your research paper and essays will be assessed using the Core Skills Writing Rubric.

Grading

Your final grade will be calculated as follows:

  • 30% Research Paper

  • 5% Presentation

  • 5% Celebrate Learning Poster

  • 10% Midterm
Although there is a midterm for the class, there is no assignment called "Final Exam."

  • 20% Reflections blue bullet used to denote item in a list
You will write a brief reflection concerning each of your colleague's presentations.

  • 30% Participation
Participation points are given for classroom activities, homework, and quizzes.

Students guilty of plagiarism and other forms of academic dishonesty will fail the course.

Because academic dishonesty violates the Schoolcraft College Student Code of Conduct, I will also forward the name of any student guilty of plagiarism or other forms of academic dishonesty to the Dean of Student Services so that she can determine if additional disciplinary action is warranted.

Students who do not successfully complete any one of the following four major assignments--research paper, presentation, Celebrate Learning poster, midterm exam--will fail the course.
