On 11 December 1981, Muhammad Ali fought his last fight ever against Trevor Berbick. Although he was not successful in this fight, his legacy still lives on as the greatest boxer of all time.

Ali is widely considered the greatest heavyweight champion of all time. He started his career very quickly coming up through the amateur fights. In 1960, he was invited to participate in the Olympics. After dominating the event, Ali was thought of as an American hero.

The great fighter continued his dominance and became the heavyweight champion of the world in 1964. He would go on to stop boxing for a couple months soon after. The reason behind his absence was to try and help with the race issues throughout America. Ali played a huge role in maintaining peace between races before returning to fighting.

Some of Ali’s most famous fights came against Joe Frazier, which he won two out of the three battles. He would go onto fight his very last fight in 1981, which he lost. At this point he was pretty old for a boxer, but he wanted to give the fans one last fight.
